Andy Jowett
Managing Director

Andy has lead our airport standards check program alongside quality management, staff development and training for many years. His past experience working within airfield operations ensures BML benefits from a multifaceted understanding of airport operations, as well as the wildlife strike risk.

Lee Johnson
Director of Operations

Lee is one of the UK's foremost ornithologists, with extensive survey and monitoring experience both in the UK and across the world. He brings 30 years ornithological experience delivering management development, risk assessment and global training.

Sara Bone
Safeguarding Manager and Remains Consultant

With over 20 years of experience resolving conflicts between developers and airports to enable planning applications to proceed without risk to air safety, Sara brings a wealth of experience and expertise to BML's wildlife and bird hazard management planning program for aerodrome safeguarding.

Jon Middleton
Aviation Ornithologist 

Training, monitoring, staff development, standards checks and an eye for targeted detail, we are proud to have an expert ornithologist with us who has also spent significant time within the world of grass management. This expertise and experience complement BML’s extensive knowledge.

Dr Dan Nesbit
Aviation Ornithologist

Dan recently completed his PhD on global change-induced range shifts in birds, before joining our team. He has worked on a range of ecological projects including teaching bird identification and survey skills at a several locations around the world.

Andy Baxter
Aviation Ornithologist

Andy has worked in wildlife strike risk for 30 years. He has been integral to the set up and running of BML as well as conducting research and publishing scientific papers. His work with ICAO and several countries' CAA's has helped to shape regulation and guidance material.

Phil Mountain
Aviation Ornithologist

Phil has worked with a wide range of airlines and airports across the globe during his 30 years mitigating wildlife strike risk. He was responsible for the initial set up and running of several of BML's most significant projects and continues to support these, with a particular focus on overseas projects.

John acts as a senior consultant helping the team deliver effective programs across the globe. An ex chair of the International Birdstrike Committee (and leader of the UK government's Wildlife Management Team), we're proud to have John as one of our specialist birdstrike members.
